ShareMy Support

Help setting up and using ShareMy.

Set up user profiles, manage Screen Time access, control app allowances, troubleshoot restrictions, and learn how ShareMy works on your iPhone or iPad.

ShareMy is designed to turn one device into a shared iPhone or iPad, giving each user their own PIN, time allowance, allowed hours, and app access.

Getting Started

Set up ShareMy in five steps

ShareMy uses Apple's Screen Time technology to control access to selected apps while keeping separate settings for each person using the device.

01

Authorize Screen Time

Allow ShareMy to use Apple's Screen Time technology so it can manage app access on the device.

02

Create an Admin PIN

Set a separate PIN for administrative settings and device controls.

03

Choose Managed Apps

Select the apps ShareMy should manage when user access is restricted.

04

Add User Profiles

Create individual profiles for each person who shares the iPhone or iPad.

05

Set Time & Access

Choose each user's daily allowance, allowed hours, and optional custom app access.

Screen Time

Screen Time authorization

ShareMy uses Apple's Screen Time technology to manage app access on the device. Screen Time authorization must remain enabled for ShareMy to apply restrictions.

If Screen Time access is turned off in Settings, managed apps may become available until ShareMy is authorized again.

Apps suddenly stopped locking?

Open ShareMy and confirm that Screen Time access still shows as approved.

Then open Setup & Protection and verify that the correct managed apps are selected.

User Profiles

Individual settings for everyone sharing the device

Each person can have their own access settings without changing the limits or preferences of other users.

Each profile can include

  • A 4-digit access PIN
  • A daily screen-time allowance
  • Optional allowed hours
  • Optional custom app access
  • A profile icon and color

How time allowances work

Time is counted while managed apps are being used. ShareMy itself does not count against a user's allowance.

When two minutes remain, ShareMy sends a warning notification. When the allowance is fully used, managed apps are locked again.

Allowed hours

You can limit a user's access to a specific time window.

If the allowed-hours window ends, managed apps are locked even if the user still has time remaining.

Adding bonus time

An administrator can add temporary bonus time to a limited user from the Admin area.

Bonus time applies for the current day.

App Access

Control which apps users can access

Use one set of managed apps for everyone or customize app access for individual profiles.

Managed Apps

ShareMy can use a global set of managed apps for all users or a custom set for individual users.

If an app does not appear to lock correctly, confirm Screen Time authorization and review the managed-app selection.

Safari & Web Access

ShareMy can restrict web access while managed apps are locked.

Safari itself may still open, but browsing can be blocked while restrictions are active.

Administration

Admin controls stay separate from user access

The Admin PIN is separate from user PINs and should only be known by the device owner or administrator.

Opening Admin does not use a user's screen-time allowance and does not intentionally end the active user's session.

Enable or Disable ShareMy

An administrator can temporarily disable ShareMy.

When disabled, ShareMy stops applying app restrictions until it is enabled again.

Purchases

One-time unlock. No subscription.

ShareMy includes a free trial followed by a one-time permanent unlock. There are no subscriptions and no ads.

If you previously purchased ShareMy using the same Apple Account, use the Restore Purchase option in the app.

Troubleshooting

Common ShareMy issues

Most access problems can be resolved by checking Screen Time authorization, user allowances, allowed hours, and managed-app settings.

Managed apps are not locking

Open ShareMy and confirm that Screen Time access is approved. Then check Setup & Protection and verify that managed apps are selected.

A user has no time remaining

The user's daily allowance may already have been used. An administrator can add bonus time or wait for the next daily reset.

A user cannot start a session

Check whether the user is outside their allowed-hours window or has used their full daily allowance.

The 2-minute warning did not appear

Check iPhone or iPad notification settings for ShareMy and make sure notifications and Time Sensitive notifications are allowed.

Screen Time access was disabled

Reopen ShareMy and authorize Screen Time access again when prompted.
